PwC Bermuda & L&F Holdings Renew  Longstanding Partnership with Endeavour

20 Aug 2026

PwC Bermuda and L&F Holdings Limited are proud to announce their renewed support of Endeavour, a Bermuda-registered charity dedicated to building self-confidence and life skills among diverse youth across Bermuda through experiential learning and sailing that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) education with sailing.

Endeavour welcomed PwC Bermuda team members to Endeavour’s West Fort in Dockyard for an annual Community Day as part of the Endeavour Graduate Summer Programme. PwC Bermuda team members paired up with Endeavour sailors for a memorable day of learning, teamwork, and connection on and off the water. From ocean adventures and friendly competitions sailing RS Quests and RS Zests and hands-on activities covering knots, boat parts, and rigging, alongside interactive challenges that reinforced core sailing fundamentals, Endeavour Grads taught PwC Bermuda volunteers skills they have been building during the programme.

“We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of PwC Bermuda who have championed Endeavour’s mission since our beginning in 2015. Their longstanding commitment has helped create life-changing opportunities for Bermuda’s young people, and we couldn’t do it without them,” said Jennifer Pitcher, Endeavour’s Executive Director. “PwC Bermuda and L&F’s continued commitment in time, talent, and resources has helped Endeavour positively impact thousands of young people across the island. We’re deeply thankful they’ve chosen to renew their support for another three years, and value their partnership that continues to make a lasting difference!”

Scott Watson-Brown, Partner, PwC Bermuda, said: “Seeing the enthusiasm, confidence and teamwork demonstrated by the young people participating in Endeavour’s programmes reinforces why this commitment is so important to us. Endeavour is creating meaningful opportunities for Bermuda’s youth to gain not only experience on the water, but also to develop valuable life skills and a connection to the marine environment. We are delighted to renew our support and look forward to continuing to contribute our time, talent and resources to help expand the programme’s positive impact in the community.”

Since its founding in 2015, Endeavour has engaged over 9,000 youth from 31 schools across Bermuda, and for more than 74% of students, their first exposure to sailing. Endeavour’s programmes are offered free of charge to ensure students from all backgrounds have access, a model made possible through the sustained support from valued donors such as PwC Bermuda and L&F Holdings Ltd. The renewed three-year commitment secures that access for the next generation.

100% of Endeavour’s instructors are young Bermudians who have graduated from Endeavour’s Maritime Career Springboard Programme. Many have progressed through Endeavour’s pathways, beginning with the STEAM Education through Sailing Programme, followed by the Graduate Programme and Assistant Instructor Programme, before completing Springboard and earning internationally recognised qualifications. Their journey is a powerful testament to Endeavour’s commitment to nurturing local talent and inspiring the next generation of maritime leaders.

Endeavour’s STEAM Education through Sailing Programme engages every 11- to 12-year-old student across Bermuda, fostering confidence, curiosity, and environmental awareness. By partnering with schools throughout the island, Endeavour ensures that every student has the opportunity to participate.

During the 2025–2026 school year, the programme reached 518 students from 15 schools across the island.

Over five days, students learn about different STEAM topics applicable to sailing during the programme, including:

  • Sailing Geometry & Evolution of the Rig
  • Buoyancy
  • Wind Power & Wind Measurement
  • Mechanical Advantage
  • Marine Debris & Its Impact on the Environment
  • Weather patterns
  • Sailing fundamentals

Each week concludes with an interactive scavenger hunt at the National Museum of Bermuda, where students learn more about Bermuda’s rich maritime heritage.

Students who are new to sailing and demonstrate strong teamwork, respect for others, willingness to learn, and effort are invited into the Endeavour Graduate Summer Programme, a two-week experience centred on skill development, confidence, and personal growth. Aligned with the Royal Yachting Association’s Youth Sailing Syllabus, Endeavour’s Graduate Programme builds core sailing and water safety skills — rigging, steering, sail and speed control, tacking, and ropework — while connecting students from different schools and backgrounds. Graduates may continue training during school breaks and weekends throughout the year.

Endeavour Grads shared what the programme has meant to them:

“I’ve learnt that I can try new things, and I’ve improved my learning skills and my knowledge of water safety and how to sail. Sailing on the water introduced me to a new sport that I am now interested in. I’d recommend the programme to others because it’s a very good programme that teaches kids how to sail,” shared Torhy Fubler, Endeavour Grad and Sandys Secondary Middle School student.

“I really enjoyed learning to sail the Quest — I had a lot of fun learning how to rig it and how to race the boat. I recommend this programme to others because it allows people to grow as human beings and extend their knowledge of sailing, and even while you’re doing it, you can meet new people and have tons of fun,” said Jayda Muthra, Endeavour Grad and Saltus student.

“I learned that I can get stronger at sailing by working hard. I enjoyed sailing because I learned about new boats and got stronger, more comfortable, and more confident in sailing. I’d recommend the programme because it strengthens your confidence and your strength,” said Anil Bell, Endeavour Grad and Bermuda Institute student.

Endeavour’s Programme Instructor, Tre’sure Nanette shared, “It was awesome to see our sailors showcase their newly developed sailing knowledge and skills with PwC Bermuda volunteers while meeting new people and helping others get excited and develop an interest in sailing too.”

PwC Bermuda volunteers shared their own highlights from the day:

“The passion and knowledge the kids had when explaining things to do with the boats and sailing was amazing. The confidence the instructors have given them to talk about something they’re so passionate about was really cool. It reminded me of my love for sailing that I’ve grown away from as I’ve gotten older, and inspired me to start getting back into it,” said Charlotte Emery-King, PwC Bermuda.

“I loved how engaged the students were in educating and showing us volunteers how things work. I loved the practical experience of being on the water and getting to know in real time the mechanics of sailing,” said Robin Dreyer, PwC Bermuda.

“The Community Day was a huge success! I really enjoyed getting to work with the kids and learning about sailing techniques both on and off the water,“ shared Samantha Friedman, PwC Bermuda.

“It was fantastic to see PwC Bermuda team members’ positive energy and enthusiasm throughout the day as they interacted with our Endeavour sailors and team members,” said Cristian Roque, Endeavour West Chief Instructor. “It was very inspiring to see our sailors step outside their comfort zones and take pride in sharing the knowledge and skills they’ve developed this summer.”
